The number of thermographic cameras installed in customs and border crossing points and airports of the country due to coronavirus danger has been disclosed, Head of press service of the State Customs Committee Natig Akhundov said in response to APA’s inquiry.
A total of 67 units of thermographic cameras are available in all customs and border crossing points and airports. Everybody who arrives in Azerbaijan pass through these thermographic cameras.
Remind that on January 28, based on the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev, an informational meeting was held at Cabinet of Ministers for implementation of preventative measures against coronavirus epidemics spread in Wuhan City of PRC and already recorded in other regions of the world, as announced by the World Health Organization and government of the People’s Republic of China.
The meeting chaired by Prime Minister was attended by heads of the concerned state authorities. The discussions were conducted at the meeting in regard to the prevention of entry of the epidemics into Azerbaijan.
Following the meeting, it was adopted a decision to take the following measures:
- Switching to enhanced working mode;
- Serious medical examination and keeping under control all persons, coming from the People’s Republic of China, especially from its virus-hit zone;
- Preparing a list of products, considered special risky and can be affected by the virus, and strengthening control over these products in the market;
- Establishing call centers in health institutions;
- Conducting awareness works on people on the virus and fighting methods against it;
- Regularly informing people on the condition;
A decision on the establishment of the Working Group has been adopted with the participation of the administration of the Health Ministry and relevant organizations in the meeting. Recommendations of World Health Organization are taken into consideration while taking measures.
As well, note that the Press and Public Affairs Relations Department of the State Customs Committee has released information on the coronavirus. The information reads that relevant measures are being taken by the customs bodies in customs and border crossings points in relation to infectious diseases, globally threatening people, especially pneumonia with unknown causation, appeared recently in Wuhan city of Hubei Province of the People’s Republic of China.
Regarding this, medical sanitation examination is being conducted in the enhanced mode with the methods in terms of thermometry by means of devices (thermal cameras) used to measure human body temperature from a distance, medical inquiry, visual examination, and other diagnostic methods in order to identify individuals with symptoms of coughing, fatigue, high temperatures, upper respiratory tract, etc.
In the case of the detection of sick and suspected persons, the necessary conditions have been created for their testing in temporary places allocated and provided with all necessary items for their temporary isolation.
As well, disinfection measures on vehicles are also being carried out.
At the same time, entering of individuals to the country by air transport, it is required to provide information to the customs authority on relevant medical and sanitary control issues in accordance with the medical-sanitation part of the document of "chief declaration" of aircraft adopted by Civil Aviation Organization and signed by relevant members of the crew.
Besides that, relevant works are being conducted in accordance with regular communication systems defined to organize information exchange and other necessary interaction with the Ministry of Health and other relevant government agencies, as well as heads of hygiene and epidemiological centers of cities and regions.
