 Ombudsman implements fact-finding mission in Barda

Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva is in Barda City in the framework of the fact-finding mission in order to conduct on-site investigation in regard to the human casualties occurred and the damage caused as a result of shelling of Barda for two days in row by the Armenian armed forces using banned cluster bombs, the Ombudsman’s Administrative Office told APA.

5 residents including one child were killed, while 13 civilians were wounded as a result of the rocket attack on Garayusifli village of Barda region at about 04:00 p.m. on October 27 by Armenia blatantly violating requirements of the humanitarian ceasefire regime announced beginning from 08:00 a.m. on October 26, 2020.

It was stated that 20 people were killed, 70 people were wounded, massive amount of damage was caused to civilian infrastructure facilities situated in the city and a number of transport facilities on the next day, at about 01:00 p.m. on October 28, as a result of the repeated rocket strike inflicted by the Armenian armed forces on the central area of Barda City where peaceful residents were moving more densely due to location of trade facilities there.
