If the violation of the anti-epidemic regime, and sanitary, hygiene and quarantine regimes causes spread of diseases or creates real threat of spread of diseases, the punishment will be applied in the form of fine in the amount ranging between AZN 2,500 and 5,000 or custodial restraint for the period of up to 3 years or the imprisonment for the period of up to 3 years, APA reports.

This has been reflected in the draft law about making a change in the Criminal Code brought up for discussion at the plenary meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament held today.

If the same actions cause a man’s death or other grave consequences, the perpetrators will be punished in the form of custodial restraint for the period of 3-5 years or the imprisonment for the period of 3-5 years.

The draft law has been put to a vote and has been adopted.
