The Food Security Agency of Azerbaijan Republic (AFSA) has disseminated information regarding the measures implemented in order to protect the country from the infectious animal diseases that can pass to our country’s territory from other countries, AFSA told APA.

The information says a s a result of the measures taken by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) against the epizootics developed on Ukraine’s territories where the highly pathogenic bird flu disease has been recorded, the new epidemic outbreaks of the highly pathogenic bird flu disease haven’t been witnessed. Thus, the import and transit of chicken meat from Ukraine to the European Union’s member states have been permitted.

Taking all these into consideration, the AFSA has taken a decision to eliminate the restriction applied since January 30, 2020 on import of live poultry and chicken products brought in the Azerbaijan Republic from all territories of Ukraine except for Vinnitsa region. The decision is applied to the live poultry and chicken products reared and produced on March 1, 2020 and thereafter.
