Return of Azerbaijani students studying abroad to country provided due to coronavirus - OFFICIAL

Due to the coronavirus (COVID - 19) pandemic, the Youth Foundation of the Azerbaijan Republic is taking urgent measures regarding the strengthening of control over health and security of the students receiving education in the framework of the Education Abroad Program in the countries where this virus has widely spread and their return to our country if necessary, the Foundation told APA.

Besides, in order to prevent any danger that could emerge, as well as to operatively take necessary measures, the close contacts are being continued with the program participants continuing their education abroad and the universities where they receive education.

“The information is being constantly obtained about the students’ needs and the situation in the country and city of their temporary settlement, that information is being analyzed and communicated to our diplomatic missions situated in relevant countries. If necessary and in accordance with the students’ wishes, their return to our country is ensured.

Currently, the youths’ education process at the leading universities of the USA, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Norway and the Russian Federation in the framework of the Education Abroad Program is supported by the government.

The contest on financing of education abroad was held in 2019 by the Youth Foundation in accordance with relevant Decree of the PReseident of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev. The youths having won the right to receive education at the magistracy level in 74 specialties in the leading higher education institutions of the USA and Europe participated in the contest.

“The Youth Foundation is also applying some restrictions to participation of youths in international events and programs of internship at international organizations due to the coronavirus (COVID - 19) pandemic”, the report says.
