“Development of education has been one of the main targets in state strategy”, said Azerbaijani Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov while his speech at a conference dedicated to “Development strategy of education: achievements and main targets”, APA reports.
He stated about 3300 schools were built and repaired during 2013-2019: “More than 30 thousand pupils participated in Republican subject olympiads this year. This indicator is 5 times more in comparison with the previous years. A number of teachers, whose salaries are more than AZN 1000, is about 5000.”
Minister also stated that 231 students have been registered on 8 directions in Baku State Industry and Innovation Vocational Education Centre in this academic year: “It is planned to increase the number of students up to 1000 from next year. The amount of scholarships of students has also been increased by 20% this year, and it has covered more than 110 thousand students. A number of students, getting a scholarship is planned to increase up to 50% from the next academic year."
