"5 prisoners were brought to Azerbaijan, while 25 foreign prisoners were handed over to their countries last year," said Chair of International Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice Adil Abilov at the press conference dedicated to the Ministry's activity in 2020, APA reports.
According to him, seven persons were extradited from foreign countries to Azerbaijan last year: "Borders were closed until today, problems were experienced due to extradition, because original court documents had to be received. Consultations have been held with several partners in this regard, we have asked to take electronic documents for execution. As a result, seven persons were extradited to Azerbaijan from foreign countries, 6 foreign citizens in Azerbaijan were also extradited to their countries."
