According to regulations, applied by the Task Force under the Cabinet of Minister in the framework of measures against the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), currently, movement of people and passenger vehicles from Georgia and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been banned. These restrictions will also be applied at customs border crossings, located on the border with the Russian Federation from March 18, State Customs Committee told APA.

It was noted that taking into account numerous requests to the SCC, we reiterate that these restrictions apply only to passengers and passenger cars. There are no restrictions on the movement of trucks.

The transport facilities arriving in Azerbaijan from the Islamic Republic of Iran where the virus is widely spread after being disinfected in several phases are directed to the special terminal on the territory near the border. In the terminal, the cargoes are reloaded on the transport facilities with the registration number plate belonging to the Azerbaijan Republic and are dispatched to the destination point.

And the movement on the country’s territory of the transport facilities carrying transit cargoes is implemented with the accompaniment of the State Road Police.

And the heavy vehicles arriving from other countries are dispatched to the destination points after the implementation of disinfection works.

Currently, the State Customs Committee is functioning in the enhanced working mode, and all necessary steps are being taken in the area of easy, unimpeded and rapid implementation of trade activity.

We bring to the notice of the foreign trade participants that in connection with Novruz holiday, on the non-working days including March 20 the customs clearance will be implemented uninterruptedly at all customs departments.
