Novel coronavirus is a virus, which spreads fast. Despite very serious anti-epidemics measures in Azerbaijan, as a result of non-following sanitary-hygiene rules by many people, the number of coronavirus patients is increasing, TABIB told APA.
Coronavirus infection is observed more aggressive and serious in elder people and those, who have parallel diseases. However, if young people have parallel disease, the virus is either observed with serious symptoms or results in death. Treatment, conducted against the virus is not effective on those people.
Immune Plasma, used for the Convalescent plasma therapy, applied for patients in serious condition in the world, is prepared in the National Hematology and Transfusiology Center in Azerbaijan. People, recovered from coronavirus infection can be donor for patients, who are in severe condition. Currently, we have patients, who are related to artificial ventilation system and in critical condition. Conducted experience shows that Convalescent plasma therapy is very effective for these patients.
Convalescent plasma therapy has already been applied with immune plasma from 9 donors to 15 patients in serious condition for 21 times in different pandemics hospitals. Specialists have observed positive dynamics in 4 patients, and recovery in 3 ones. Immun plasma therapy may be conducted on several patients for several times. Donors may give plasma after 14 days again:
