# 31 March 2020 15:41 (UTC +04:00)

The Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has disseminated information, APA reports.

The information reads that despite the measures and joint efforts of most countries and the World Health Organization, it has not been possible to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, 787,469 people have been infected with COVID-19 worldwide so far, and 37,846 people have died from the disease.

Despite preventive measures taken by the Azerbaijani government, the disease is spreading throughout the country. At present, the dynamics of virus infection in Azerbaijan is growing every day. Unfortunately, in addition to the aggressive and high rate of infection, the majority of the population does not comply with the requirements of special regime rules, close contact with others, leaving home when it is not necessary, non-compliance with the requirements of the quarantine period on public transport, etc. caused non-compliance with existing rules.

In order to minimize close contact between people, thereby reducing the rate of infection, the special regime period in the country was strengthened from March 31 to April 20. People are allowed to leave their homes and apartments only when they need urgent medical care when there is a direct threat to life and health, when they go to authorized retail and public facilities, and when they throw household waste.

Residents are asked to leave their homes only in case of necessity. While leaving home take ID card or identity document, service cards of persons working in authorized areas or an official certificate confirming this fact. Employees of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the Republic of Azerbaijan and their and local staff to take with them accreditation cards issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It is recommended not to use private cars without serious necessity, to wait for a distance of 2 meters when in contact with people.

We state that all measures are taken to ensure the safety of citizens, to protect the health of every inhabitant of Azerbaijan.

Everyone is required to follow the rules of the quarantine regime to prevent the virus as soon as possible, to avoid more dangerous complications among people, and not to leave the house unless necessary. Legal liability will be imposed on those who do not comply with the rules of the quarantine regime.
