The world's COVID-19 infection cases exceeds 90 mln

Confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide are approaching 90 million, with over 1.9 million fatalities and more than 49 million recoveries, according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU), APA reports

The Chinese mainland recorded 69 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday including 48 locally transmitted cases.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip received COVID-19 vaccinations on Saturday as the UK's total infections surpassed three million.

The U.S. has registered over 22 million cases of COVID-19 and more than 371,000 people have lost their lives to the virus. The White House coronavirus task force on Friday warned of a possible "U.S. variant," which is fueling spread of the virus.
