“A mission including five-member from the WHO European Office is on a visit to the country starting from July 21 to support Azerbaijan's fight against COVID-19,” said WHO representative in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci at a virtual press conference on the results of the mission of the World Health Organization (WHO).
According to her, during ten days, mission members met with local partners, visited health centers and hospitals, and took notes:” The mission was led by David Novillo Ortiz, WHO European Office Health Information Program Manager. We are grateful to the Azerbaijani state for its support throughout the mission. We thank them for openly sharing information with us.”
WHO representative said most of the recommendations of the mission, which arrived in the country in March, have been implemented: “There is progress in many areas. The recommendations of this mission will help to develop areas that need to be improved. Our experts during ten days observed amazing works being done in Azerbaijan. We were most amazed by the people working in Azerbaijan in the fight against COVID-19.
