The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Wednesday of a highly possible resurgence of COVID-19 in Europe in early 2021, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The organization related the potential rise in infections to contacts made at social gatherings during the winter holidays season and urged the public to wear protective facial masks during Christmas celebrations.
The WHO recently called on respecting the restrictions imposed to avoid new spikes in cases as the vaccines against coronavirus produced so far were "still far off" from ensuring an immune barrier.
