World Health Organization's (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus asserted on Monday that investments worth $100 billion will be needed for the development of the coronavirus vaccines, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"This sounds like a lot of money and it is. But it's small in comparison to the $10 trillion that have already been invested by G20 countries in fiscal stimulus to deal with the consequences of the pandemic so far," he said in a press conference.
Tedros also commended the targeted measures many governments have imposed to suppress the further transmission of the coronavirus, especially noting that France, Germany, South Korea, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom have been successful with the implementation of such actions.
