Baku Police: Unsanctioned rallies to be prevented

Main Police Department of Baku City has warned on the appeals on social media to hold an unauthorized rally, police major Elshad Hajiyev, chief of press service of the Baku City Main Police Department told APA.

According to him, in accordance with the Law, any unsanctioned political campaign or rallies which not permitted by Baku City Executive Power will be prevented strictly: “Holding meetings, rallies, demonstrations, street processions and pickets is carried out in accordance with the law. The police will only carry out the functions assigned to it in connection with law enforcement in the capital.”

Note that the National Council appealed to the Baku Executive Power to hold a rally on October 19.

Appeals have been made to hold a rally around 28 May subway station in Baku if the rallies are not allowed.
