“Reduced working days are complex issue. This may have a significant impact on the country's employment and labor market”, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev said as a response to journalists on the possibility of implementation of 4-day workweek in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

The Minister noted that salaries in Azerbaijan are determined monthly: "And in the countries where the 4-day working week is discussed, the hourly basis is mainly taken. In our case, a reduction in working days can affect wages. It can be determined based on wages, based on the labor markets, based on the added value of labor resources."

According to the minister, the implementation of the 4-day working week in Azerbaijan is not on the agenda at the moment: "But as any matter, this can be discussed in the future."
