Azerbaijan appeals to WHO for conduction of monkeypox diagnosis

"Tests, which determine monkeypox virus, will be brought to Azerbaijan soon," representative of World Health Organization to Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci told journalists, APA reports.

According to her, the monkeypox exists in the world: "The virus is mostly observed in Africa. It is observed in Europe too but is not a level causing concern like COVID-19. As it is infected in a different form, its spread is not so fast. There is no ground for concern, but monkeypox should be kept under control like all other diseases. The Azerbaijani government has appealed to the WHO to conduct of diagnosis of the disease. Monkeypox tests will be brought to Azerbaijan very soon."
