Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society has released a statement regarding humanitarian issues of Armenian-origin residents of Azerbaijan's Garabagh region, APA reports.
The statement reads that the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society is ready to support the delivery of humanitarian goods to Armenian-origin residents through the Aghdam-Khankandi road.
"The Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, with the participation of its employees and volunteers, is ready to provide support in the delivery of any humanitarian cargo, necessary food, medicines, medicines, clothes, etc. to residents of Armenian origin along the Aghdam-Khankendi road.
The implementation of this humanitarian mission is fully consistent with the requirements of both national legislation and the Geneva Conventions and their amendments, as well as the corresponding amendment made in 2022 to the Seville Agreement of 1997. According to this change, the leading role in the implementation of humanitarian assistance is given to National Societies.
The entire potential of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society has been mobilized to carry out this humanitarian mission.
The statement was adopted at an expanded meeting of the Board of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society on August 21, 2023," the statement says.
