The management of the Red Crescent Society negotiated with the command of the Russian peacekeepers in order to deliver the food cargo to the residents of Armenian origin, they asked us for a certain time to respond. However, the 6th day is already over, and we still haven't received an answer from them, Gafar Asgarzade, vice-president of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society told APA's Karabakh office.
He said that employees, volunteers, and senior officials of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society are waiting on the Aghdam Khankendi road to fulfill their humanitarian mission: "Our main goal is to provide food aid to residents of Armenian origin living in the Karabakh Economic Zone. We have mobilized all our forces to deliver two trucks loaded with 40 tons of flour to residents of Armenian origin. In this regard, relevant negotiations were held between the leadership of the Red Crescent Society and the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces. They will ask us at a certain time. they wanted that after some time they will give us an answer regarding the delivery of the food cargo. Today is almost the end of the 6th day, but we have not received any response from them. However, we are in a waiting position, we are at the top of our duty. We will do our job until we deliver the food cargo to citizens of Armenian origin. We will continue. Of course, this good step of ours is in accordance with the national legislation, the charter of the Red Crescent Society, and certain international documents. Because the main mission of the Red Crescent Society is to be with people, to support them. For this purpose, we are here and I suppose , soon we will deliver this food cargo to those people. The main issue here is that if a certain agreement is reached, our employees and volunteers will deliver this help to those people. At the same time, if security is ensured in the full sense, if certain conditions are created, the employees of our society will conduct monitoring work involving certain specialists, and after the assessment, we will provide what people need."
It should be noted that trucks with 40 tons of flour have been waiting in front of the post of Russian peacekeepers on the Aghdam-Asgaran-Khankendi road since August 29.
