On May 24, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov received the delegation led by United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative for Central Asia Ashita Mittal, Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told APA.
Welcoming the guest, the minister emphasized the existence of close cooperation relations between many institutions of the UN and the MIA, and that Azerbaijan continues beneficial cooperation relations with many special institutions and bodies of the organization.
Expressing her gratitude for the warm welcome, Ashita Mittal reminded that security issues have been successfully implemented in Azerbaijan, law enforcement, including police agencies have adequately coped with their duties in this direction, and expressed confidence that the cooperation between the UN structures in Azerbaijan and the MIA will expand further.
At the meeting, a wide range of opinions were exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
