A meeting has today been held with a visiting delegation of Turkish Interior Ministry’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) at the building of the Presidium of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), APA reports.
In his remarks, AFAD's General Director of Earthquake and Risk Reduction Orhan Tatar said that Azerbaijan is also located in a seismic zone and emphasized the need to unite forces.
Saying that the transfer of AFAD's technologies to Azerbaijan is among the key targets of the organization, O. Tatar said that the construction of the seismic station in Shusha, which is the first step taken in this regard, will soon be completed and invited the ANAS management to Türkiye.
Following the meeting, the AFAD representatives visited the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center and held discussed software.
