"After end of Patriotic War, about 300 Azerbaijani servicemen were considered missing, in accordance with a list submitted by relevant bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan," said Ismayil Akhundov, Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, head of the Working Group at a conference today on "Identification of missing persons - Humanitarian approach" dedicated to the August 30 - International Day of the Disappeared with an organization of the State Commission regarding prisoners of war, hostages and missing persons, APA reports.

Ismayil Akhundov has added as a result of emergency search measures conducted with the close participation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and ICRC in relevance to the Trilateral Statement, bodies of most missing servicemen were taken from liberated from occupation territories and handed over to their families.

"Unfortunately, although necessary measures are taken regarding search of six servicemen, who participated in the Patriotic War, it has been impossible to determine their future fate and they have been registered in the State Commission as missing persons in the Patriotic War. Non-determination of their fate until now is painful for each of us."
