Doppler radar system to be installed in Azerbaijan

"Azerbaijani lands have been under occupation for about 30 years. For 30 years, the eco-balance in these areas has been disturbed, biodiversity has been severely damaged, and the environment has been severely damaged," said Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev at the meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-UN relations in Shusha, APA reports.

According to him, water resources and rivers in the liberated areas have been subjected to an ecological crisis.

Mukhtar Babayev noted that during the occupation, hydrometeorological stations, all infrastructure for monitoring the environmental situation have been destroyed by Armenia.

"An initiative has been made on the construction of 11 meteorological stations in the liberated territories. Doppler radar system will be installed in Shusha city and will join the existing network in the Samakhi and Goygol area" said the Minister.
