ICRC representatives visited captured Armenian nationals in Azerbaijan

"On 23 September, the ICRC representatives visited the recently captured Armenian nationals notified by the Azerbaijani authorities. They were met in private, and the contact with their families was established," said Ilaha Huseynova, head of Public Relations Department of ICRC Office in Azerbaijan in a response to APA's query.

"According to its mandate, during such visits, the ICRC assesses the treatment of detainees and conditions of detention and helps to ensure that the detained individuals are able to restore or maintain contact with their families. As per the ICRC’s procedures, the observations and recommendations related to its visits are only shared with the detaining authorities," I. Huseynova noted.
