The visit of a group of international travelers representing 12 countries to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur has begun, APA reports.

Prominent members of the traveling aristocracy from 12 countries make up the 30-person staff: the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Brazil, and Russia.

This visit once again shows that the interest of international travelers to the ruins in the liberated areas, to the construction-restoration and demining works carried out here has increased significantly. So, in the last 2 years, the large delegations of the main international travel networks - ETIC, MTP, TCC, NomadMania and the Turkish Travelers Club, where most of the Turks are members of these clubs, have visited Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur 5 times. One was in 2021, and four were in 2022.

This is the 6th visit of international travelers to the liberated areas as a group, as a continuation of the process. The group includes travelers with a keen interest in military history, as well asauthors well-known for their travel books.

As in previous trips, international travelers are guided by Mehraj Mahmudov, a world-class Azerbaijani traveler, on their trip to the liberated territories.

This trip plays an exceptional role in promoting the liberated areas within the framework of "dark tourism". International travelers get an opportunity to get acquainted with the realities on the spot, including the work done in connection with the Zangezur corridor, which attracts the attention of the business and tourist elite of the world, by visiting the liberated territories looted by Armenia for almost 30 years, where heavy fighting took place in 2020, and now they are going through a period of reconstruction and construction.

The group will travel for three days through the Fuzuli-Khojavand-Shusha-Kalbajar-Lachin-Zengilan-Jabrayil-Aghdam route.
