Heavy rains caused landslides in the Artvin region of Turkiye, APA reports citing IHA.

Rock pieces and soil fell from the mountain and spilled onto the highway in the Kamalpasha district.

The passing trucks were seriously damaged, leaving at least one person and several injured.

As a result of the landslide, the Turkiye-Georgia international highway (the road to the Sarp border-crossing point) was closed on both sides of the Black Sea coast.

Many ambulances and rescue forces were involved in the region.
