Los Angeles hosts event on Azerbaijan

Los Angeles hosted an event solemnly celebrating the Independence Day of Azerbaijan and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, APA reports citing the Consulate.

The event, held by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, was attended by US political figures, officials of the State Department and Los Angeles province, consuls general of various foreign countries, well-known figures of Science and culture, journalists, members of the Azerbaijani community, as well as heads of friendly Turkish, Jewish, Pakistani, Korean, Latino, Iranian and other communities.

Consul General of Azerbaijan, Duane (Chairman) of the Los Angeles Consular Corps Nasimi Aghayev, who delivered a speech after the national anthems of Azerbaijan and the United States, spoke about the establishment of the first republic in the history of Azerbaijan and its achievements.

The Consul General said that Azerbaijan is ready for regional peace and has taken important steps to this end. Noting that Azerbaijan-US relations have developed over the past 30 years, the diplomat noted that a close partnership has been established between the two countries in many strategic areas, which are based on common values and interests.
