NGIC hosts event on reconstruction, reconciliation and integration in Shusha-UPDATED

Opening ceremony of the event on "Reconstruction, Reconciliation and Integration: Energy, Economy, Environment and Equity" organized by Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC) held in Shusha, was held, APA reports.

The opening speeches of the event were delivered by the co-chairs of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center Mrs. Vayra Vike-Freyberga and Ismail Serageldin, the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha region, Aydin Karimov.

More than 30 foreign officials from various countries attend the event. Former President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev, Former President of Serbia Boris Tadić, Former Presidents of Croatia Ivo Josipović and Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, Former President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović, 75th President of the United Nations General Assembly Volkan Bozkır, former ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Altwaijri, Former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdžija, Former Prime Minister of Moldova Chiril Gaburici, Former Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat, Minister of the Interior of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Predrag Kurteš, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Romania Ana Birchall, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia Eka Tkeshelashvili, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Hedva Ser, President of the European Coalition of Cities Against Racism (ECCAR) (UNESCO) Benedetto Zacchiroli, President and CEO of The National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP) Susan Elliott, Former Vice President of World Bank Mats Karlsson are among the attendees.

On June 7, under the organization of Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC), "Reconstruction, Reconciliation and Integration: Energy, Economy, Environment and Equity" program has kicked off, APA's correspondent assigned to Shusha reports.

Co-Chair of NGIC Ismail Serageldin, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) Emin Huseynov, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Hedva Ser, former ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Altwaijri, Chairman of the Management Board of the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts of the Eastern Zangezur economic region Vahid Hajiyev, other government and state representatives as well as former heads of international organizations attend the event.

The four-panel program will discuss issues of reconstruction, peace and integration, cultural heritage and shared values, capital and economic development alignment, energy and environmental challenges of sustainable development.
