“During the conflict period, 1480 Azerbaijanis after the First Karabakh war, and 26 Azerbaijanis after the Second Karabakh war were released from captivity,” said the Head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Ismail Akhundov at the first international conference on "Forensic Archaeology and Forensic Anthropology: Humanitarian Application", APA reports.
According to him, more than 500 people were handed over to the other side during the First Karabakh War, and 181 people were handed over after the Second Karabakh War.
