Ombudsman received head of ICRC in Azerbaijan

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva received head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan Arian Bauer regarding the completion of his activities in Azerbaijan and Dragana Kojic new head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan for acquaintance, Ombudsman Apparatus told APA.

Touching upon the fate of 3,890 Azerbaijanis missing during the First Karabakh War, Sabina Aliyeva stressed the need to increase efforts to clarify the fate of these people during the post-war period.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation. The importance of organizing awareness-raising events to promote and apply humanitarian law within the framework of cooperation was noted.

The Ombudsman thanked A. Bauer, wished him success in her future activity and congratulated the new representative D. Kojici on her appointment.

In turn, the guests thanked the Ombudsman for the warm welcome. Kojic expressed hope for the successful development of cooperation with the Ombudsman's Office.
