"In general, the world community has turned a blind eye to the difficulties faced by Azerbaijan as a country and a nation as a result of the policy of aggression and aggression for 30 years. There was no harsh reaction and the indifference and neglect of such facts led to the recurrence of such cases in modern times," said the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva at a panel on "Human Rights, Democracy and New Challenges in the 21st Century" held within the IX Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

"International tribunals have been set up at different times in history to deal with various events.

The issue of bringing to justice those who have committed crimes of genocide, peace, and crimes against humanity should not depend on the political interests of any state, as it directly contradicts the principle of the supremacy of human rights and freedoms.

During the two years, As the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, I carried out numerous fact-finding missions to our liberated lands, prepared extensive reports on environmental crimes against our country, severe pollution of these territories by mines, vandalism of historical, cultural, and religious heritage, as well as war crimes committed against civilians during the war, especially the killing of children, and addressed them to the world community.
