"Excavations were carried out in 3 kurgans (burial mounds) in Fuzuli district of Azerbaijan," Director General of the Institute of Archeology, Ethnography and Anthropology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Professor Abbas Seyidov told APA.

He said that the kurgan in question are located approximately 700-800 meters from the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha road.

"This is a large kurgan field and there are 3 thousand year old ruler's kurgans. It belongs to the VIII-VII centuries of the 1st millennium BC. During our research, it was revealed that the ruler was buried here with his chariot. Remains of chariot wheels, horses, and weapons were discovered. Most of the materials found here are kept in our fund, and some of them have been handed over to the Museum of History of Azerbaijan".
