TABIB appeals to WHO over varicella vaccine

“We raised an issue before the World Health Organization (WHO) for inclusion of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine in the National Immunization Schedule. Because defining vaccine schedule is carried out based on the recommendation of the WHO,” said Consultant of the Department of Organization of Maternal and Child Health of the Medical Activity Organization Department of TABIB Shabnam Shahgaldiyeva, APA reports.

According to her, this vaccine is more expensive in comparison to other ones.

“As currently this virus has widely spread among children in our country, inclusion of chickenpox vaccine in National Immunization Schedule is very important. Considering the current situation regarding vaccines in Azerbaijan, it is important to include the mentioned vaccine in the state program.”
