WHO to assess Azerbaijan

World Health Organization (WHO) Mission has started its work on certification of reduction of local infections with malaria in Azerbaijan, WHO Representation in Azerbaijan told APA.

Purpose of the mission, which will last for five days, is to review documents developed for certification of the reduction of local infections with malaria in Azerbaijan and if needed, to give technical recommendations for improvement, assessment of the current program in the country for prevention of spread of malaria again, as well as making visits to the territories, where malaria was earlier endemic, and to get a discussion and consensus with the Health Ministry on a timetable of certification process in Azerbaijan.
