More than 250 thousand West Azerbaijanis were subjected to deportation in 1988-1992

Until March 1918, Armenian armed forces destroyed in total 198 villages of Iravan governorate — 32 villages in the Iravan uezd, 84 in the Etchmiadzin uezd, 7 in the Novo-Bayazid uezd and 75 in the Surmali uezd, about 135 thousand Azerbaijanis were subjected to genocide and forced deportation in those uezds, APA reports citing the press service information of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

For the same criminal purpose, in 1948-1953, more than 150 thousand Azerbaijanis were expelled massively and violently from their ancestral lands in the Armenian USSR territory. Thousands of people, including elderly and children, died resisting hard migration conditions, acute climate change, physical tremors and spiritual torture.

In addition, the crimes recorded during 1988-1992 were continued in a planned way, forcibly expulsioned, over 250,000 Azerbaijanis from 185 settlements of Western Azerbaijan was subjected to deportation and persecution from their native lands, from their homes by "Karabakh", "Krunk" committees, and the Armenian government, and 216 Azerbaijanis were deliberately killed by the Armenian armed forces and subjected to genocide.
