Criminal case launched against representatives of the heads of EP who distributed food assistance intended for poor families to their families

A criminal case has been opened against another official, the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.

The prosecutor’s bodies continue to take measures in accordance with the law in conjunction with the executive authorities of cities and regions regarding violators of the special quarantine regime established by the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.

The appeals received by the district prosecutor’s offices in connection with similar unlawful actions by some officials of the administrative and territorial representations of the heads of the executive branch of Lankaran and Yevlakh, Saatli, Salyan, Dashkesan and Hajigabul regions are examined.

As a result of the investigation, there were grounds for suspicion that Rafail Alyshov, a representative of the head of the Executive Power of the city of Lankaran in the administrative-territorial district of the village of Narimanabad, abused his official powers, violated the distribution of food aid sent by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to low-income families, and distributed food to his relatives, including wealthy villagers.

There are grounds for suspicion that Mikail Asadov, a representative of the head of the executive power of Yevlakh city in the administrative-territorial district of the village of Garamamedali, having committed such violations of the law, abused his official position, opened food aid boxes intended for poor families, took some of them from them, and did not distribute food aid in full.

In addition, grounds were established for suspicion that the representative of the head of the Saatli region’s executive power in the administrative-territorial district of the city of Saatli Nasir Gadirov, the representative of the head of the Salyan region executive power in the administrative-territorial district of the village of Parcha Khalaj Sadyg Damirov and the representative of the head of the Dashkesan executive power Khatam Azizov in the administrative-territorial district of the village of Zagaly committed forgery, illegally issued certificates to citizens for free movement in violation of the rules of quarantine regime.

There are grounds for suspicion that the representative of the head of the Executive power of the Hajigabul region in the administrative-territorial district of the village of Navai Namik Bakhshiyev and the acting representative in the administrative-territorial district of the village of Garasu Ilknur Huseynov also committed similar offenses.

The indicated persons were dismissed by order of the heads of the executive branch of the respective region.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted in the prosecutor's offices of the respective regions under Articles 308.1 (abuse of power) and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code.

The necessary investigative and operational measures are ongoing to identify and hold accountable the guilty circle.
