Armenia preparing new provocation plans demonstrates that its actual intention is not to solve the conflict peacefully, but to continue the illegal occupation of the Azerbaijani lands, Press Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office told APA.

The provocations and crimes committed by the Armenian side on the frontline testify to the aggressor country’s intention not to hold negotiations at all but on the contrary to create sharp escalation.

“The assaults of provocative nature committed by the aggressor country’s armed forces, violation of ceasefire regime and crimes against military servicemen of the Azerbaijan Armed forces committed by it making null and void the peace process bear the character of open disrespect against norms and principles of international law, as well as resolutions and decisions of the UN Security Council.

The ceasefire regime was once again violated by Armenia’s armed forces that continue to commit crimes against peace and humanity by implementing its aggressive actions, and at about 05:00 p.m. on September 20, 2020, the fire was opened from firearm on the combat post situated on the territory of Agdam village of Tovuz region, as a result of which soldier Gurbanov Gurban Azad sustained injury described as “blunt shrapnel wound of right shoulder area”.

In regard to this incident, the criminal case has been launched in Shamkir military prosecutor’s office based on clauses 100.2 (aggressive waging of war) and 29, 120.2.12 (attempt to deliberately kill a person with the intention of national, racial, religious hostility or enmity) of Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Furthermore, units of Armenian Armed Forces continued to demonstrate its aggressive intention and grossly violated the ceasefire at about 09:00 a.m. on September 21, 2020, in the Tovuz direction, fired our positions, and Mammadov Elshan Ali, an active-duty serviceman of the Azerbaijani Army, was martyred while preventing an enemy attack.

A criminal case has been launched regarding the fact in Shamkir Military Prosecutor’s Office in accordance with Articles 100.2 and 120.2.12 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Conduction of necessary and institutional measures will be provided in order to bring military servicemen of Armenian Armed Forces to responsibility by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of norms of international law”, noted in the information.
