The measures for ensuring the reliable defense of the state borders and fighting against the illegal circulation of narcotic substances are being continued by the State Border Service, the SBS told APA.
During the last week, thanks to the vigilance of servicemen of the Border Troops of the State Border Service, the transfer through the state border of 17 kg and 290 grams of narcotic substances and 195 pieces of Methadone m40 pills, 1 piece of 9 mm “Magnum” pistol, 1 piece of charger for the pistol and 28 pieces of bullets was prevented.
Thus, on April 15, the border patrol unit that detected the movement from the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the Azerbaijan Republic of two persons on the service territory of “Horadiz” border detachment gave the “Stop” order. The warning shots were opened into the air in order to halt the border violators trying to run back, and they were pursued and overtaken. During body search of the 2 border violators being the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, 1 kg and 725 grams of heroin, 1 kg and 800 grams marijuana, 1 kg and 335 grams of opium, 400 grams of methamphetamine and 195 pieces of Methadone m40 pills were detected and confiscated.
Besides, on April 19, on the service territory of “Horadiz” border detachment, the attempt to violate the state border was prevented. The border violator ran back, while on the scene of the incident, the narcotic substances with a total weight of 12,030 grams (11,355 grams of marijuana, 620 grams of heroin, 55 grams of methamphetamine crystals), 1 piece of 9 mm “Magnum” pistol, 1 piece of charger for the pistol and 28 pieces of bullets were detected and confiscated.
The operational and investigative measures into these cases are being continued.
