"The task set before us was fulfilled on time. We have no problem in fulfilling the tasks," said representative of the group of Azerbaijani firefighters sent to Turkey, Deputy Chief of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) Rza Khudiyev to APA at the scene.
The Deputy Chief said that on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, on July 30, 100 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were involved in extinguishing fires in Turkey:
"We are fighting fires in the forests of Marmaris. The area of the fire is very large, the area allocated to us is about 20 hectares. As you can see now, there is no longer a source of fire. The task set before us was fulfilled on time. The weather is very hot. The temperature here reaches 45 degrees. Therefore, fires occur again in hot weather. We have no problems in fulfilling the tasks. "
Rza Khudiyev also said that they are being assisted by mayors and firefighters in Turkey:
"Currently, we almost do not use fire equipment. Manual methods are used. On the instructions of Mr. President, a delegation of 250 people is coming from Baku to support us. Now they are on their way. Tonight they will cross from Georgia to Turkey. "Once they arrive, we will be able to put out the fire in more areas."
