Farman Jeyranli declared wanted via Interpol

Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies have declared surgeon Farman Jeyranli, co-founder of the Lancet Clinic wanted via Interpol line, the information has been posted on the website of Interpol, APA reports.

Farman Jeyranli born in 1957 has been accused of illegal transplantation of human organs and tissues.

Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies have declared an interstate search on Farman Jeyranli and have applied to Interpol for his detention.

Note that F.Jeyranli detained on May 2017 in Georgia. Law enforcement agencies were appealed about the “Lanset” Clinics where F.Jeyranli was a co-founder. It was stated in the appeal that illegal organ transplantation operations was held at the clinics, and two people died as a result of these operations. F. Jeyranli convicted according to the 180th article of the Georgian Criminal Code and sentenced to the 6-year prison. According to the decision of the Georgian Court of Appeal his sentence decreased to 2 years 3 months period. His punishment finishes in August of this year.

It should be recalled that the Main Department on Combating Human Trafficking under the MIA of Azerbaijan included F.Jeyranli to the international wanted person list.
