Azerbaijan’s border guards detained an Iranian national for attempting to trespass the country’s state border with Iran yesterday around 18:50 PM, the State Border Service told APA.
During the inspection of the scene where the trespasser was detained, 10 Scottish Fold kittens were found in a box.
The detainee has been identified as Iranian citizen Kakavand Mima Farhad, born in 1983. The Iranian citizens attempted to smuggle the kittens from Azerbaijan to Iran for sale purposes.
Necessary operational and investigative measures are underway.
