Azerbaijani border guards have prevented smuggling of a large amount of drugs to the country.
As a result of an operation held upon the information received at about 05:10am on January 23, Aghdam district resident Valiyev Tapdig and Lachin district resident Nabiyev Salan were detained over an attempt to flee the scene by car taking a large amount of drugs from a hidden place, which was smuggled to the country through the state border in Jalilabad district’s Tazakand village, the State Border Service told APA.
Two kg of opium and one kg of heroin were found and seized.
Necessary investigative actions are underway.
