Over the first six months of 2018, Azerbaijan’s law enforcement authorities have neutralized 441 criminal groups, including those accused of committing grave crimes, said First Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Vilayat Eyvazov.
He made the remarks addressing an expanded board meeting of the Interior Ministry on Saturday, APA reports.
In addition, 82 people charged with illegal possession and carrying of firearms were brought to criminal responsibility during the reporting period.
Eyvazov went on to say that as a result of the measures taken to tackle drug trafficking, 1,708 drug-related facts were revealed, and 734.4 kg of drugs were seized from criminals caught for the illegal sale of drugs.
