Azerbaijan’s national security agencies, thanks to support from the country’s president, continue to prevent any danger and threats within the country, Madat Guliyev, head of the State Security Service, told reporters in Baku Dec. 12.
He noted that the State Security Service has in a short time conducted several operations in the country’s districts to prevent security threats.
“We’re taking actions to eliminate criminals and spies. Our officers have met resistance while arresting them but prevented them decisively,” said Guliyev.
He added that Azerbaijan’s special state security agencies also cooperate with other countries’ corresponding agencies.
“All the steps are being taken in this direction. The main purpose is to ensure popular support for policy being pursued by the country’s president,” he said.
