A fire broke out in the house of Azerbaijan’s former transport minister Ziya Mammadov in Buynuz village of the country’s Ismayilli district on Feb. 19, APA’s local bureau reports.

The fire began in a wooden three-room, one-storey house, built next to the former minister’s villa.

The fire was reported to the Emergency Situations Ministry’s department in the district by the guard of the village, Rasul Badirov.

Two fire engines and manpower of the Emergency Situations Ministry arrived at the site to extinguish the fire in the house with a total area of 144 square meters. The house completely burned down.

Due to the fact that the Buynuz village is located 25 km from the district center, and the Emergency Situations Ministry was lately reported about the fire, it was not possible to prevent the fire.

No one was injured during the accident. The causes of the fire are not yet known.
