The Ilyushin Il-38 plane of the Indian Air Force has safely landed at Moscow’s Zhukovsky airport, with its nose landing gear fold, a spokesman for the Ilyushin company said on Saturday, APA reports quoting TASS.
"The Il-38 has safely landed with its nose landing gear fold. No fire followed," the spokesman said, adding that no one was hurt.
According to earlier reports, the Indian Il-38 was about to make an emergency landing at Zhukovsky due to problems with the landing gear.
Built on the IL-18 platform, the Il-38 [NATO reporting name: May] is a long-haul antisubmarine warfare aircraft equipped with a navigation system of Doppler and radio navigation tools and an automated target search and track system capable of spotting surface ships and submarines.
