Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. A resident of Azerbaijan’s Lachin district, Mugabil Bakhishov, who is said to be a supporter of Abdullah Ocalan, one of the founding members of the militant Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), has been arrested on fraud charges.

Orkhan Mansurzade, head of the Interior Ministry’s press service, told APA that Bakhishov, taking advantage of trust of four Lachin residents, misappropriated their property by deception.

He received 4000 manats from them under the pretext of giving jobs to relatives of those persons and others like this.

Mansurzade noted that the Lachin district police office has filed a criminal case against Bakhishov under relevant articles of the Criminal Code after receiving appeals of those citizens. He was sentenced to pretrial detention under the court decision.

Bakhishov has been previously imprisoned. In 2012, he had been sentenced 3 years in prison over hooliganism charges. Then he served half of his sentence in jail and was released on parole. He was declared wanted as he avoided the execution of civil obligations.
