Investigation into case of Azerbaijani SSAC ex-spokesman suspended - <span style="color: red;">EXCLUSIVE

Baku. Shahriyar Alizade – APA. Investigation into the criminal case of Elnur Naghizade, former spokesman for the Azerbaijani State Students Admission Commission (SSAC) has been suspended as he is wanted for fleeing the country, APA has learned.

Earlier, Baku residents Vusal Ibrahimov vÉ™ Zaur Asgarov had appealed to law enforcement authorities that they gave $150,000 to Elnur Naghizade in August 2015 in order to get a job. They noted that they were not provided with work and they couldn’t get their money back.

The Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General launched a criminal case based on the complaints against Elnur Naghizade under articles 178.3.2 (swindle), 308.1 (abusing official powers), and 320.1 (fake, manufacturing or selling of official documents, state awards, seals, stamps, forms or use of counterfeit documents).

The court ordered the arrest of Naghizade in absentia.
