Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Musavat Party leader Arif Hajili and some members of the National Council’s Coordination Center – Eldaniz Guliyev, Ogtay Gulaliyev, Gozal Bayramli, and deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Nuraddin Mammadli were summoned to the Interior Ministry's Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime on Friday over growing religious extremism in Azerbaijan.
“They talked about the growing activity of some radical sects throughout the country, and their direction from centers hostile to Azerbaijan. That was the reason we had been invited there. They warned us that party members should steer clear of such sects,” Musavat Party leader Arif Hajili told APA.
Speaking to APA, Gozal Bayramli, a member of the National Council’s Coordination Center, said that he was called to the Main Directorate because of one of his Facebook posts.
