On June 4, there were reports on some websites and social networks regarding citizen Emin Aslanov being allegedly detained and taken away by unknown people in civilian clothes in the National Seaside Park in the afternoon and detained by the police.
The Ombudsman’s Office told APA that Emin’s family and media outlets called their hot line, seeking help over the same incident.
Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova immediately requested the Interior Minister to locate the person and ensure his rights.
Investigation revealed that Emin Aslanov is under administrative arrest and is detained at the Interior Ministry’s detention facility.
